I Left Thailand to Hike the Grand Canyon - Toughest Day of My Life - South Kaibab Trail and Bright Angel Trail
Just finishing up our Everest Base Camp trek, I figured hiking down to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and back up in a single day would be a piece of cake. Boy was I wrong. Our day started at 4 AM, and we headed down the South Kaibab Trail... all was well for about 2 hours... I had been sick for two weeks leading up, nothing serious, but fatigued and a sore throat. About 2 hours in, my toes really started bothering me, then a hip flexor. By the time we got to the bottom, I was literally starting to wonder how I was going to get out of there.
We stopped at Phantom Ranch Ranch for a rest, which was welcomed and then headed back up on the Bright Angel Trail.
This was a very tough day for me as you can see from the video. Enjoy!!!
