We took a boat from Laem Son National Park to island hop through some of the most beautiful and least-visited islands in all of Thailand. The snorkeling at Koh Khang Khao (Bat Island) was incredible. Crystal clear Andaman Sea water and healthy coral reefs with nobody else around. We explored the pristine beaches of Koh Kam Tok and the uniquely named Japan Island (Koh Jeepun), each one more beautiful than the last.

But the real adventure started on our return trip when our boat's propeller fell off in the middle of the Andaman Sea. Our Thai guide pulled off an incredible MacGyver-style repair using nothing but wire and rope β€” and somehow got us safely back to shore. This is why Thailand never gets boring!

If you're looking for hidden islands in Thailand without the crowds, Ranong province and Laem Son National Park should be at the top of your list. These islands are what Phuket and Koh Samui looked like 30 years ago β€” untouched, unspoiled, and absolutely stunning.
