What Bang Por Beach Is Like
Bang Por is described as a beach with fine, light sand that turns coarser and reddish right by the water. The beach is not very wide, around 20 meters along its length, and the water near the shore is shallow, often only up to the knees. Coral patches run along the coast for about 150 meters, so swimmers cannot head far out into deeper water.
When to Visit Koh Samui
Koh Samui is Thailand's second largest island and can be reached by its own airport or by ferry from Surat Thani in about 2 hours. The climate is tropical monsoon, warm and humid most of the year. Beach clubs are available year round, but January to April see the least rainfall, while October and November are the rainiest months.
